The tasselled anglerfish wears a fringe of skin flaps and filaments that break up its outline among the weed and sponge of southern Australian reefs. A temperate frogfish that walks more than it swims, it sits inshore down to around forty five metres, waiting to engulf passing prey with a sudden gulp.
