A tiny frogfish of shallow inshore weed and rubble, Butler's frogfish grows to only about fourteen centimetres and lives alone on the bottom. Like other frogfish it walks on armlike fins rather than swimming and waits motionless for prey to come within reach of its sudden, gaping mouth.
