A sculpin of river mouths along the warm temperate coasts of East Asia, the roughskin sculpin lives where rivers meet the sea. It is a carnivore, matures within a year and reaches around 14 centimetres. Like other sculpins it has a broad head and a body that tapers sharply to the tail.
