Branching like stubby fingers, this coral grows on turbid sandy bottoms in Australia but climbs onto upper reef slopes nearer the equator, living between two and thirty five metres. In Palau it shrugs off heat stress better than most, with low bleaching and low die off, and the IUCN rates it of least concern.
