This bell shaped jelly lives in quiet bays, often hovering near the bottom rather than out in open water. It hunts bottom dwelling crustaceans and the zooplankton that gathers just above the seabed, drawing them up with tentacles trailing from the rim of its roughly ten centimetre bell.
