Diamond Killifish

Fundulus xenicus

Diamond Killifish

A tiny killifish of salt marshes, mangrove flats and hypersaline pools, the diamond killifish thrives in shallow water often less than a foot deep and tolerates a huge range of salinity. It grows to barely six centimetres and, unlike many killifish, is not a seasonal species. Aquarists find it a difficult fish to keep.
