A large skate of sandy and sand rock bottoms from shallow water down to nearly 400 metres, the blonde ray feeds on a wide range of seabed animals. It lays oblong egg capsules with stiff horns at each corner, and pups may follow large objects such as their mother. It reaches about 120 centimetres.
