Keyhole Limpet
Diodora aspera
- Group: Other
- Typical depth: 0–15 m
- Max size: 7.5 cm
A single hole at the peak of its cone shaped shell gives this limpet its name, venting water it has drawn over its gills. When a sea star attacks it flares the soft mantle up over its shell so the predator's tube feet find nothing to grip, and it grazes algae and bryozoans low in the intertidal zone.
