This flat bodied slipper lobster, broad and shield shaped, lives on shore reefs in shallow water no deeper than about 20 metres. It reaches around 16 centimetres and shuffles over the reef on flattened plates rather than the long antennae of spiny lobsters. Too little is known to assess its status.
