The smallest of the world's otters, the oriental small clawed otter works mangroves, rivers and floodplains, often in family groups of up to fifteen. Active at dusk and through the night, it digs crabs, fish and snakes from the mud with nimble, barely clawed paws, and its numbers are falling.
