A venomous cone snail of sandy bottoms from the shallows down to about a hundred and fifty metres, the rayed cone hunts other snails and worms. It fires a hollow harpoon tooth loaded with paralysing venom, and the larger cones in this family can deliver a sting dangerous even to people.
