A tiny cerith snail of mangrove country, the pellucid cerith lives both on the mud and climbing the prop roots and stems, part of the arboreal community among the trees. It stays in very shallow water, between about 1 and 3 metres, grazing algae and detritus from the surfaces it crawls over.
