Kellet's Whelk

A large whelk reaching about eighteen centimetres, Kellet's whelk lives in kelp beds and on rocky and sandy bottoms from the low intertidal down to around seventy metres. It gathers in loose groups to feed and breed, scavenging and preying on worms and sea squirts.
