California Sea Cucumber

A big sea cucumber of the eastern Pacific, the California sea cucumber sprawls across rocky and sandy bottoms from the low intertidal down to about ninety metres. It mops the seabed with a fringe of feeding tentacles, swallowing sediment to strip out organic matter, and is gathered commercially.
