Gastropod

Nassarius persicus

Gastropod

A small dog whelk of muddy intertidal flats and the first metre of water below, it follows the scent of dead and dying animals across the sediment. Like most of its family it is part scavenger and part omnivore, cleaning up whatever the tide leaves behind.
