A slim coastal squid of the southwest Atlantic, the Sao Paulo squid hangs over the bottom in shelf waters and grows to about twenty centimetres. It hunts crabs, shrimp, smaller squid and fish, striking with two long tentacles, and is taken in regional trawl fisheries.
