Named for the flat, tightly coiled shell that looks like a sundial dial, this snail can reach about seven centimetres. It lives between ten and two hundred and eighty metres but is most common in shallow water, where shrimp trawlers sometimes scoop it up by chance; like other sundials it preys on small soft bodied animals.
