Vermetid Worm

Thylacodes variabilis

Vermetid Worm

Unlike most snails this worm snail cements its shell to coral, rock and flat reef surfaces and never moves again. It feeds by casting out mucus nets to trap plankton and detrital scraps from the water, then reeling the catch back in.
