A rabbitfish that grazes algae and seaweed from reef and rock and browses seagrass, schooling over coral and sandstone reefs as an adult. Young fish grow up in large estuaries before moving out to the reef, and it reaches about thirty five centimetres with venomous fin spines typical of its family.
