Adding a certification
Add your training cards in the Vault, including the ones our catalog hasn't heard of.
Your training cards live in Divemates → Settings → Vault → Certifications. Tap Add Certification, find your card, and you're done.
Adding a card
- Open Divemates → Settings → Vault → Certifications.
- Tap Add Certification.
- Search for the card by name and we'll look across every agency at once, or browse by agency under Scuba or Freediving.
- Tap your certification.
- Add the certification number and issue date if you have the card in front of you. Both are optional, and each physical card has its own number.
- Tap Add.
That's it. Your diver card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet updates itself, so there's nothing to refresh.
Note: your certifications aren't shown on your profile. Your eCard is the one place they're deliberately shared. See "What a shop sees on your eCard".
Specialties
Nitrox, Deep, Wreck and the rest go in the Specialties section on the same screen, through Add Specialty. They work the same way, with one difference: a specialty has to be picked from the list, so there's no option to type one in.
Your certification isn't listed
Open your agency, go to the bottom of its list and tap Enter it beside "Can't find your certification?", then type the name. That's there for unusual cards and for gaps in an agency's ladder.
Search the agency's list first, though. Courses an agency has stopped teaching are hidden while you're browsing but still turn up in search, because plenty of divers hold them.
Your agency isn't listed
Every card is filed under an agency we know about, so if yours isn't in the list there's nothing to attach it to yet. That's a gap on our side, not yours. Tell us which agency and we'll add it.
Fixing a card you already added
Tap the card to change its number or issue date. If you picked the wrong course, remove the card and add it again: swipe the row on iPhone, or press and hold it on Android.
If you see "You've already added this one", that card is in your Vault already. You get one card per agency and course, so a repeat is either a duplicate or the wrong pick.
