My sign-in code never arrived
Usually it's the spam folder or a typo in the address. Here's the order to check things in.
Start with spam. The subject line is Your Divemates sign-in link, so search your mail for that before you ask for another one.
Before you resend
Worth a look:
- your spam, junk and promotions folders
- the address on the Check your inbox screen, which is exactly where we sent it
- whether your mail app has actually fetched new mail, which is slow going on boat and hotel Wi-Fi
Got the address wrong? Tap Use a different email, fix it, and send again.
Resending
Resend email unlocks after a short countdown, so you can't fire off five in a row by accident. Ask for too many in a short stretch and we'll tell you to wait a moment before trying again, and waiting is genuinely the only fix for that one.
If a few emails do land, use the code from the newest one.
You opened the email on your laptop
Tapping the sign-in link on a different device from the one you're signing in on won't work. Only the app that asked for the link can finish the job, so the sign-in has to end where it started.
The code has no such limit. Read it wherever your email is easiest, then type it on the Check your inbox screen on your phone.
The code didn't work
Codes are one time and they expire quickly, so an old email won't get you in even if it's the only one in your inbox. Send a fresh one and use it straight away.
Note: your email address is your Divemates account. Sign in with a different one and you get a different, empty logbook rather than your own.
Still nothing
Work and school addresses can be the problem, since their filters can drop a message before it reaches a folder you can see. Try a personal address, keeping in mind that it signs you in to a separate account with its own logbook.
Otherwise get in touch with the address you're using and we'll go looking from our side.
