What's waiting in Incoming?
Dives that arrived from somewhere else wait in Incoming until you decide about them.
Incoming holds dives that arrived from somewhere else and are waiting on a decision from you. Nothing joins your logbook until you give it one.
You'll find it at the top of the Dives tab: Divemates → Dives → Incoming, the tray button next to your profile photo.
What ends up in the list
Two kinds of things land here:
- An import. A file you uploaded, dives read from your Apple Watch, or a sync from a connected account like Suunto.
- A buddy invitation. Another diver logged a dive and named you on it.
They share one list, newest arrival first, because they're the same kind of thing: something showed up and needs an answer.
Why a hundred dives is one row
An import is a single row however many dives came in with it. Upload a season's logbook and you get one row, named for what it came from, rather than a wall of entries burying the invitation underneath.
Open the row and you review those dives together, which is much faster than answering them one at a time.
What a row is waiting on
The second line of an import row tells you which:
- Still working on it means we're still reading what arrived. Nothing is being asked of you yet, so you can close the screen and come back.
- Couldn't be read means nothing could be pulled out of it. Open the row to see why, and to throw it away once you're done with it.
- Dives to review is the real one: that many dives inside still need a verdict from you.
Answering a buddy's invitation
Tap the row and you get three answers. When we can find dives of your own from that day, they're offered first, so you can link the invitation to the dive you already logged. Linking ties the two records together without touching anything you logged.
Add as a New Dive starts a dive of your own with the circumstances already filled in: the site, the date and time, how you got in. Your depth, gas, weights and what you saw stay empty, because those are yours to log rather than anyone else's to state.
Dismissing is quiet. Your buddy is never told, and their dive still names you whatever you decide, because that's their record of their dive.
You don't have to finish in one go
Work on an import saves as you go, so getting called back into the water halfway through a batch costs you nothing. Pick it up later where you left it.
A row leaves Incoming once everything in it has an answer. An empty screen means nothing is waiting, not that something went missing.
Bringing dives in
Bring Dives In, at the bottom of the screen, is where you connect your Apple Watch, link a Suunto account or upload a file. It's there even when the queue is empty, which is often exactly when you want it.
Note: dives you bring in always wait here for review. They never drop straight into your logbook.
